Christi Roquemore-Gordy, MSN, APRN, FNP-is a nationally certified Nurse Practitioner with a deep-rooted passion for getting to the heart of chronic health issues through functional medicine. With over four decades of hands-on healthcare experience, Christi brings a uniquely personal and professional perspective to her work.
Diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis at 17, she knows firsthand the frustration of symptoms that defy conventional diagnoses. When standard treatments and normal test results offered no relief, Christi was driven by both clinical curiosity and personal necessity to study nutrition, natural medicine, and mind-body wellness to complement her formal education.
She holds a Bachelor in Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University, a Bachelor in Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Simmons University in Boston. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is currently completing her certification in Functional Medicine from the Functional Medicine Academy.
In her private practice Christi and her team blend evidence-based functional medicine with compassionate, personalized care. She specializes in root-cause analysis of chronic issues—utilizing specialized lab testing, in-depth assessments, and ongoing collaboration with her patients to create customized, actionable plans to achieve outcomes for much needed relief. Many gastrointestinal problems are the root cause of autoimmune conditions, hormonal imbalances, stress-related symptoms, weight gain, blood sugar imbalance, or unexplained fatigue. Christi is dedicated to helping patients regain their vitality, naturally.
"I've always studied nutrition and natural medicine along with
other my continuing education classes.
Professionals need practical meal plans and exercise to stay healthy in their unique environments. Some patients need help with coping strategies.
I enjoy helping my patients to lose weight, solve digestive issues, decrease fasting blood sugars, balance hormones, and manage their auto immune diseases. Your success is my joy!!"
Functional medicine is a personalized, patient-centered approach to healthcare that focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness or imbalance in the body. It considers the complex interactions between genetics, environment, and lifestyle factors to optimize health and prevent disease.
Unlike conventional medicine, which often treats symptoms with medications or surgeries, functional medicine seeks to understand and address the underlying factors contributing to health issues. It emphasizes a holistic approach, aiming to promote wellness rather than just managing disease.
Functional medicine can address a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions, including digestive disorders, hormonal imbalances, autoimmune diseases, metabolic issues, chronic fatigue, and more. It's particularly effective for conditions with complex underlying causes.
During a functional medicine consultation, you can expect a comprehensive assessment of your health history, symptoms, lifestyle factors, and environmental influences. Your practitioner will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan focused on addressing the root causes of your health concerns.
Functional medicine incorporates a variety of treatment modalities, including nutritional therapy, lifestyle modifications, stress management techniques, targeted supplementation, detoxification protocols, and mind-body therapies. The approach is highly individualized based on each patient's unique needs.
The timeline for seeing results with functional medicine varies depending on the complexity of your health issues, your adherence to the wellness plan, and other factors. While some patients experience improvements in symptoms relatively quickly, achieving long-term wellness often requires ongoing commitment and patience.
